Hi, I’m Andreas, a 47-year-old garden enthusiast from Denmark. About five years ago, my wife and I bought a very old house by the beach—weathered by time, wind, and salt. It was barely standing, but we saw potential in its bones and its location. With the help of my family and friends, we tore most of it down and we rebuilt it ourselves. It was a labor of love and sweat, and now that the house is solid and standing proud, we’ve turned our attention to the land around it.

That’s where Sea, Stone & Soil begins.

This blog is my space to share the ongoing journey of shaping a coastal garden—one that embraces the raw beauty of the shoreline and the challenges that come with it. Living by the sea is a gift, but it’s also a constant negotiation with nature. The wind is strong, the salt is harsh, and erosion is always at work. Every stone I place, every plant we choose, has to withstand the elements.

I find stonework especially fascinating. There’s something deeply satisfying about working with a material that’s both ancient and enduring. Stones don’t just decorate a garden—they define it. They hold the slope, frame the paths, and anchor the space with a sense of permanence. In a landscape where everything else shifts—sand, soil, weather—stone remains.

Sea, Stone & Soil is more than just a garden blog. It’s a place where I document the process of building something lasting and beautiful in a setting that’s always changing. I’ll share DIY projects, garden tours, stone-hunting adventures, and reflections on coastal living.

Whether you’re here for inspiration, practical tips, or just to follow along, I’m glad you stopped by. I hope this space encourages you to see your own garden as a canvas—shaped by your hands, your story, and the land beneath your feet.
